Our Garden Progress

19 Apr

I feel like we got a lot done this week!  The potatoes, peas, lettuce and carrots are all planted into the ground and we have plenty of seedlings still indoors as well.  This time last year we didn’t have a whole lot because it was still freezing.  This year however we seem to have thawed early.  The average last freeze date in this part of Minnesota is the first two weeks of May.  But we haven’t had a freeze in over a week and a half at least and the 15-day forecast isn’t calling for any freezing temps.  So we are taking a chance.  I have had pansies out for a week now with no problem and just put out an Icelandic poppy and some snapdragons today.  We’ll see . . . I was happy to see penty of perennials that I had started from seed last year coming up this week.  Makes it feel worth the time.
